I had a chance to shoot an episode of the Elevate Your Marriage podcast this week. My guests were a couple that I shared my pre-marital course with, stood at the altar with when they said “I Do” and then dedicated their child back to the Lord 3 years ago. [I love what I do 😇]

While I finish editing the podcast episode I want to share 1 question I ask every couple on the podcast: What 1 passage of Scripture or marriage from the Bible shapes your marriage?

By “shape” I mean direction, structure, provided boundaries, etc…Like many couples, my friends had to think about it a minute. In short time they remembered how much, Matthew 19:6 has and now even more so will be the verse of their marriage going forward.

So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

You’re either thinking back or looking ahead to year 3 of your marriage. Yet wherever you are in your marriage journey the truth of that verse is powerful! 💥 💥 Here’s what it says and reminds us: 

• From different backgrounds God joined the 2 of you into 1 new family

• When God joins you you’re really joined

• Nobody or no-thing can undo what God has done (except you)
